A must for the committed drinker: take a trip around one of Poland’s oldest vodka factories. Established in 1897 the distillery is situated in a unique, historical building and the tour takes you through the whole production process, from distilling to bottling. After this arduous cultural experience you’ll be deposited in a specially arranged dining room to sample the liquids you’ve seen. The factory is located within easy access of the city centre and you’ll be able to get there and back with the help of your guide.

Take in a game at the home of the 2006 Polish League Champions. Sit in the main stand to admire the pyrotechnic and banner displays coming from the hardcore lads opposite. This is Poland’s biggest club, their equivalent of United, and this former army club come steeped in history. Older generations will remember Legia’s most famous export, Kazimierz Deyna, who also starred on the wing for Man City and starred on the silver screen in Escape to Victory. See a side of Poland missed by most visitors. Under the watchful eye of your instructor you’ll get the chance to negotiate the course, perform GPS tasks and learn vehicle recovery from the mud. Typically there will be 4 lads per vehicle plus one instructor. The 4x4s vary from Land Rover’s to UAZs, though your driving experience will be the same: challenging. All necessary equipment is provided, but if it’s wet make sure you have something waterproof, a spare set of clothes and shoes; if the car gets stuck it’s down to you to get out and push.

For something completely different become a human ball for a day. A zorb is a gigantic inflatable PVC ball, containing another smaller ball inside, suspended in position by thousands of nylon strands.
